BIOGRAPHY

ADNAN JOUBRAN

Is an oud player, composer, and musical producer whose work bridges tradition and contemporary expression with rare sensitivity and depth. Born on 9th November 1985 into a family profoundly rooted in music and the craft of oud making, he was immersed from an early age in a world where sound, artistry, and heritage are inseparable. His father, Hatem Joubran, is a master luthier, while his mother Ibtisam and sister Suha are accomplished singers, shaping a rich artistic environment that continues to inform his voice today.

At the age of 18, Adnan joined his brothers Samir and Wissam Joubran to form Le Trio Joubran, widely recognized as the first oud trio of its kind. Since their debut in Paris in 2004, the ensemble has achieved international acclaim, performing in some of the world’s most prestigious venues, including Carnegie Hall in New York, Olympia in Paris, and Théâtre des Champs-Élysées. Their work has contributed significantly to redefining the presence of the oud on the global stage.

Alongside his work as a performer, Adnan Joubran has built a distinguished career as a composer for film. He has contributed to the scores of several award-winning and internationally recognized films, including the Oscar-nominated Five Broken Cameras, as well as Le Dernier Vol, Adieu Gary, and The Last Friday, the latter two receiving Best Music for Film at the Dubai International Film Festival. His approach to film composition is marked by a refined sense of narrative, atmosphere, and emotional nuance. He is currently engaged in the creation of music for a new cinematic projects.

Over the past decade, Adnan has also developed a deeply personal body of work from his studio, exploring new sonic territories while remaining anchored in the expressive language of the oud. Since 2020, he has been releasing a series of singles — Chased, Birth, Memories, Before and After, and dusk — each reflecting a continuous exploration of texture, innovation, and subtle transformation. These works reveal a compositional voice that is both introspective and expansive, where minimal gestures evolve into immersive emotional landscapes.

Whether on stage, in the studio, or through film, Adnan Joubran’s work is defined by its precision, restraint, and poetic depth. His music does not seek resolution as much as it inhabits transition — inviting the listener into spaces where time, memory, and identity are in constant, quiet motion.
